Structure and Style

With the rise of broadband and the improvements in how web browsers translate code into graphical content it has never been easier to deliver high quality designed websites.

Website design is about finding a balance between Structure and Style. Structure can be limiting i.e. it is important to always use 'real text' as apposed to 'text as images' - for S.E.O, accessibility and ease of updating relies on the browser being able to 'read' the content of a website. This limitation, along with many others! can lead to your site looking the same as everyone else's, drowning in a sea of sameness. However - good structure can also bring out your uniqueness i.e. develping navigation hierarchies.

Implementing these structures into a graphical object is the style of a site. Colour, contrast, movement are all used with the aim of making your site a memorably and pleasant experience for the viewer.
